Back in 2016, Fardeen Khan was brutally trolled after photos showing his massive weight gain went viral. The actor was body shamed and received a lot of negative attention during the period. In an interview, he revealed that it was in 2019 when he finally decided that enough was enough and took control of his health. He shared that he started following a strict diet and then started training with regular workouts in June 2020 during the Covid 19 lockdown. With dedication to his fitness, he shed about 18 to 19 kg in a period of six to eight months before starting shooting for Heeramandi.
In an interview, Fardeen revealed that he fasts for at least 15 to 16 hours a day, following the intermittent fasting eating pattern. When asked about what he eats in a day, he revealed that he starts a day with a homemade hearty soup. The star also revealed that he prefers simple homecooked food and includes healthy fats and proteins in his everyday meals. He shared that while he is not too fond of vegetables and only likes mushrooms, beans, asparagus and spinach, he's trying to include more in his everyday meals.
He shared that whenever he is hungry throughout the day he munches on almonds and walnuts and even keeps coconut oil or ghee nearby and eats a spoonful for that boost of energy. He revealed that he eats maybe fruit or nuts and keeps ghee on stand-by whenever he is shooting as he likes to feel light and does not eat any meals on set.
Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern that involves eating and fasting for a set time period. Fardeen practices the time-restrictive aspect of intermittent fasting where he fasts for about 15 to 16 hours a day and then eats all his meals in the next 9 hours. Eating during a specific window of time is said to improve health by controlling cholesterol and inflammation levels and is also linked to weight management.?
