Shivam Dwivedi is a resident of Mahta Village in the Bhanda district of Uttar Pradesh.His father works as a farmer while his mother is a housewife.?
Completing his primary studies at the primary school in the village, he decided to pursue his secondary education at Tehsil.?
Being a studious learner, he pursued engineering after passing Class 12 with excellent mark.His aim was to crack the IIT JEE exam but his was unable to do so. But he scored enough marks to get through the National Institute of Technology (NIT).?
After successfully graduating from college, Shivam appeared for the recruitment examination of the electricity department. He cleared the exam and was selected for the post of SDO.?
But he was meant to reach for the stars - and aimed for a better position.?That is when Shivam decided to appear for the UPSC ESE Exam, while continuing with his current job and taking a leave.?
He used to study regularly for 8 hours.?
He made?a study plan and?followed it?diligently. He also made sure to focus on time management.?His hard work and dedication ultimately paid off when he got selected for the UPSC ESE 2023.?

The Engineering Services Examination, commonly known as ESE, is conducted annually by UPSC to recruit engineers in four domains, namely Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunications for technical managerial posts.?
Officers recruited through ESE are mandated to manage and conduct activities in diverse technical fields. Government infrastructure includes railways, roads, defence, manufacturing, inspection, supply, construction, public works, power, and telecommunications.
