'Felt I Had Cheated': Author Ankur Warikoo Defies Medical Odds & Transforms Himself To Achieve 6-Pack Abs
Told to stop walking after being diagnosed with a medical condition called Avascular Necrosis, a man decided to not accept his fate but instead chose to write a new destiny for himself. That man is none other than bestselling author and entrepreneur Ankur Warikoo.
Refused to accept fate told by doctor
Losing 10 kilograms and sculpting six-pack abs is quite a challenge, especially when facing a medical condition.?
In 2012, Warikoo received a diagnosis of Avascular Necrosis, causing decay in his right hip bone.?
Doctors advised him to stop walking, but Warikoo refused to let adversity hold him back.
After undergoing surgery and enduring three months of bed rest followed by five months on crutches, Warikoo embarked on his recovery journey.?
Determined to regain his fitness, he joined a gym.?
Sharing his transformation on Instagram, he revealed, "In a moment of craziness, I decided I will run a marathon! I joined a gym for the first time in my life. And started to run."
Despite initial struggles due to inactivity, he persisted.?
"10 months later, I completed the half-marathon of 21 kms," he added.?
However, he found himself surprisingly unsatisfied.
A moment of craziness results in 6-pack abs
Warikoo felt like he had cheated himself.?
"I felt I had cheated. Because up until that day, the maximum I had ever run was 14 kms. So I could have showed up any day and finished the 21 kms. It didn¡¯t require me to show up every day," he says.
To change that, he needed to overhaul his entire lifestyle.
"I needed to change my entire life. My diet, my sleep schedule, my fitness regime. And I did. I got the 6-pack abs. I got fit. Working out became a daily affair," he says.
"I thought to myself: 'What is it that I can do for which I will have to prepare each and every day?' And in another moment of craziness, at the age of 33, I found myself saying 6-pack abs!"
He further added, "10 years later (2024), I decided to go through the journey again and get the 6-pack abs. Today, I am 43 and "fat-free"! And I know that this routine, lifestyle, and mindset which started 10yrs back, will stay with me for life."
Truly goes to show that once you put your mind to it, nothing is unachievable!
