A 50-year-old man was arrested from Samastipur, Bihar after a video of him raping his daughter went viral on social media.
The accused man is a teacher by profession and a resident of Rosera in Samastipur. His 18-year-old daughter accused him of raping and threatening her. She even shot a video of the assault using a hidden camera to expose her father.
The horrific incident came to light when the daughter shot a video of her father raping her and shared the clip on social media to seek justice.
Rosera subdivision DSP Sahiyar Akhtar said that as the video went viral, police registered an FIR based on the daughter's complaint and arrested the accused father.
"Police have arrested the father who was seen assaulting [the victim] in the viral video. Legal action is being taken...and other accused are being ascertained based on the statement. Raids are also being conducted," DSP Sahiyar Akhtar told India Today.
The police questioned the father and initiated an investigation to find if there were other accused in the case.
It is also being said that the victim¡¯s mother didn¡¯t object to the assault and that her maternal uncle used to pressure her to remain quiet over the incident.
A 70-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly abducted and raped in a village in the Mirzapur area of Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district earlier this week.
The woman, a widow was sleeping outside her house on Wednesday night, when the accused abducted her.
The accused, who is said to have been drunk at the time took her to a secluded place where he allegedly raped her.
According to the police, the woman was found lying unconscious and bleeding in a field, some 400 m away from her house by her family members on Thursday morning.
She was rushed to a hospital where the doctors performed emergency surgery to stop her bleeding.
According to the doctors, the woman is under observation and her condition remains critical.
Meanwhile the accused, a 24-year-old man has been arrested by the police.
