Indian Army has, time and again, come to aid the citizens in need across the country.
In one such instance, on Friday morning, the Army's Chinar Corps warriors conducted a quick emergency evacuation of an ailing elderly lady from her remote Jammu and Kashmir village in Baramulla, braving harsh weather conditions.?
According to an official statement, the soldiers walked through snowfall to reach the woman in extreme pain and bring her to a hospital.?
"In the early morning hours of 20 January, Indian Army detachment at Paro proactively acted on a distress call from Mir Mohd, a resident of the remote Jabri village, who desperately sought an evacuation of his 80-year old wife with a severe fever, vomiting and abdominal pain," the Army said in a statement.?
The statement further added that the woman, identified as Sardar Beewa, was carried from Jabri village in Boniyar Tehsil in Baramulla district to Primary Health Care (PHC) Centre in Boniyar. Jabri Village is situated along a steep incline, posing an extreme challenge during evacuations amid heavy snowfall.?
However, the daring Chinar Corps warriors walked through knee-deep snow and reached the ailing lady's home.?
After reaching the spot, they carried the aged lady on their back to minimise injury to the patient, which might arise due to mountainous tracks with steep gradients and heavy snowfall conditions.?
On reaching the Para detachment, the woman patient was swiftly shifted to a waiting Army ambulance and successfully evacuated to PHC, Boniyar. The local villagers appreciated the timely response by Army's Para detachment, and people on Twitter were also impressed by the swift response by the troops.??
