The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a Rs 10 lakh bounty for Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whom the investigators believe was involved in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique earlier this month.??
According to the NIA, Anmol Bishnoi is wanted on charges including criminal conspiracy, and anyone providing information leading to his arrest would be rewarded Rs 10 lakh.??
The NIA notice describes Anmol Bishnoi, aka Bhanu Pratap, as the son of Lovinder Singh, hailing from Dotaranwali village in Punjab¡¯s Fazilka district.??
The role of Anmol Bishnoi in the criminal gang founded by his brother Lawrence Bishnoi came to light following the killing of Baba Siddique in Mumbai.??
According to the Mumbai Police, investigating the murder of Siddique, the gunmen who shot dead the NCP leader were in contact with Anmol Bishnoi through Snapchat before executing the crime.??
Police found that the shooters and Pune-based Praveen Lonkar, alleged to be the mastermind, were directly in touch with Anmol Bishnoi and used to delete the messages after receiving them.??
Anmol was also in contact with the accused from Canada and America, and four mobile phones have also been seized from the accused, the police said.??
Last week, a Mumbai court that denied bail to shooter Vicky Gupta, who was arrested for firing outside actor Salman Khan's house, noted that he was instigated by Anmol.??
"It shows that on instigation and as per directions of wanted accused Anmol Bishnoi, accused number 1 (Gupta) and 2 (Sagar Pal) have committed these acts," the court said.
