Like death, layoffs can happen to anyone at any time without notice, and it can be devastating. A woman learned that she had been laid off on what should have been the happiest day of her life.
The woman, identified only by her first name, Amanda, got a message from her boss in the middle of her wedding ceremony. She narrated her story on The Ben Askins Show, explaining how a WhatsApp message from her boss ruined the biggest day of her life.

¡°Half an hour after the ceremony, I got a text from my boss on WhatsApp to let me know I had been fired,¡± Amanda explained, noting that her boss was well aware it was her wedding day.
What makes the text message even worse is how the boss started the conversation.
"I hope your wedding went well and you had a nice time away," the boss said. "I just wanted to let you know that the decision has been made to unfortunately let you go. An email has been sent to your?personal?email address detailing this. I am?really?sorry that it didn't work out and wish you all the best moving forward," the WhatsApp message continued.

Though she saw the message during the wedding ceremony, Amanda said she read it only later when she?realised?she had been removed from the company¡¯s WhatsApp groups.
¡°I saw her message, and with all my friends around me, I just gasped,¡± Amanda said.
According to her, she was fired over what the company said were 'performance issues,' which she said were never brought up in the past.
¡°I had no indication whatsoever of these performance issues,¡± Amanda said.
