Indian women in Ireland have achieved a significant milestone by emerging as the highest median weekly earners in the country. According to Irish Central Statistics Office data, Indian women are the only female nationality group in Ireland earning more than their male counterparts.?
In 2022, the median weekly earnings for Indian women were Euro 886.93, surpassing the national median of Euro 670.90 for both genders.
The analysis reveals that Indian women earned 45% more than female Irish citizens (Euro 611.60) and approximately 50% more than the female median weekly earnings (Euro 592.92).?
Notably, Indian females outpaced their male counterparts from India, earning 4% more with a median of Euro 852.98.?
This distinction emphasizes a unique trend, as median earnings for males were higher than for females across all other nationality groupings.
Regarding median weekly earnings, Indian nationals take the lead in Ireland at Euro 873.38, which places them ahead of UK nationals at Euro 710.32, with males earning Euro 820.24 and females making Euro 582.34. Ambassador Akhilesh Mishra commends the outstanding performance of Indian women, attributing it to the transformative initiatives under Prime Minister Modi's leadership.

He notes that initiatives like Swachchha Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and support for women's entrepreneurship have influenced the dynamics of India-Ireland people-to-people ties.
He said, "What is happening in the Indian community here is a result of the paradigm change under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the shift from rhetorical pro-women slogans of the past to comprehensive, life-cycle-based action in mission mode for women empowerment."
Mishra emphasizes the growing trend of Indian women leading start-ups and pursuing higher education in Ireland by pointing to the welcoming environment that Irish society provides.
