Apple is really close to opening its own-branded stores in India after reports revealed that the company has commenced hiring employees for its outlets in India, according to a report by Financial Times.?
As per the report, the company¡¯s ¡®Careers¡¯ page has listed numerous opportunities for workers in India which includes business experts ¡®genius¡¯ operations experts as well as technical specialists.
The company has over a hundred results for job positions in India. Moreover, the retail positions which were recently posted are for Mumbai as well as New Delhi locations.?
Apple has been in talks for setting up its physical Apple Stores in India for a few years now. The company only started selling officially in India through its website in 2020.
Apple however has been taking a keen interest in the Indian market. This year, its Indian iPhone manufacturing facilities manufactured iPhone 14 series alongside China for the Indian domestic market from September 2022. Today, more than 80 percent of iPhones being made in India are meeting the demands of the domestic market.
This also came after COVID-19 lockdowns engulfed its Chinese facilities with a series of disruptions including Christmas as well as January¡¯s Lunar New Year holidays.?
The company even went to the extent of offering handsome bonuses to attract new workers while retaining the old staff. Apple however has claimed that the output of iPhone plants in China have come back to normal.
All the disruption has resulted in the revenue for December to be 12.3 percent year-on-year.
