Apple is reportedly threatening to fire an employee over a viral social media clip. The clip, posted on TikTok, showed an Apple employee, Paris Campbell, showing users basic security tips.
Apple says that Campbell breached company policy by identifying herself as an Apple employee and posting about Apple, The Verge reported.
Just like most companies, Apple has a social media policy as well, wherein employees are advised against posting about customers, colleagues, or confidential information. Even then, employees aren't banned from posting about the company's tech.
"We want you to be yourself, but you should also be respectful in posts, tweets, and other online communications," an internal Apple document states.

What essentially happened was a TikTok user said that she'd lost her iPhone at Coachella. Those who found it had sent her threatening messages saying they would sell her personal information on the dark web until the iPhone was removed from her Apple ID. Mind you - that is the only way for someone else to take over a used iPhone in a legit way.
In her response, Campbell referred to herself as a certified hardware engineer at "a certain company that likes to talk about fruit." She advised the TikTok user against listening to extortionists and instead urged her to do nothing.?

In 24 hours, the video had amassed 5 million views. On Friday, she was warned by her manager at Apple to remove the video to face consequences that could culminate in termination.?Campbell has quite the following on TikTok, with over 439,000 followers. She has been doing stand-up comedy since 2011. Apple hasn't acknowledged the issue publicly yet.
