Some strings have surfaced in the code of the popular messaging platform that suggests that the current unlimited storage space for WhatsApp data might not last for long.?
WABetaInfo has come across a screenshot that shows notifications informing users that they are reaching the end of their storage quota.
These notifications are expected to surface during the backing up of a userĄŻs chat. Along with this, WABetaInfo also reports that users could be offered an option to exclude certain file types -- like video or audio files -- from being backed up, to maintain storage space on the cloud for more important things such as images or messages.?
The report reveals that Google could offer a certain quota for backing up WhatsApp files -- it could either be included in the already existing 15GB quota or it could be over and above the existing 15GB quota.?
