Humans have gone above and beyond to enrich their living experience. However, this advancement has undoubtedly come at a cost. As we take up more and more space for ourselves and our cities, wildlife in the area suffers greatly as it loses access to more and more places by the day.? ?
A new video on the web has people realising this very fact. Twitter user Milind Pariwakam shared a video from Maharashtra where people were seen waiting in line in traffic as the forest officials and authorities halted humans on their way on the broad road to let a tiger and its cub cross the road.?
The bizarre video captured how the tables have truly turned in the wild as humans gawk at the deadly predators while they squeamishly pass along at their mercy. The video was a great example of human and animal co-existence as the people calmly waited for the tigers to pass.?
Milind captioned his post, ¡°Everyday, tigers and other wildlife are endangered while crossing roads around Tadoba. When will NGT orders be implemented fully by @MahaForest @mahapwdofficial On the +ve side, kudos to the crowd management here, maybe by @MahaForest staff like last year?¡±
Check out the video below:
A second video was later posted by Milind. It captured the incident from a different angle and showed how the tiger had questioned itself before crossing the road. In the video, the large tiger is seen watching the other side of the road, looking like it was calculating the risk factors of crossing the road while the humans surrounded them so closely.??
People on the internet were gravely concerned about the wildlife in the area. A user suggested, ¡°Sir can't we build overpasses in such vulnerable points?¡±
"One solution is to have a proper speed breaker, which will force vehicles to reduce their speed and allow better reaction time. Mostly in these stretches, people drive fast and animals cross suddenly in panic," said another.? ?
An angry fellow penned, "Animals?are not crossing the road, our roads are crossing where they live. If we can spend crores of rupees laying roads, then can't we spend some for their safety too? Politicians are too busy making new Ways & Infrastructures ... Pity!"? ?
Another gentleman added to the discussion, ¡°this would be like a ¡°band-aid¡± to a broken arm. What if i told you that some design, new rules & enforcement (most importantly) can do the job, saving us the huge costs of building unsustainably at wrong places. Stop taking away from nature, leave alone giving back to it.¡±
