"Today marks Abba's official retirement from his KIRANA shop, although he wasn't quite ready for it," when he first opened his shop,?noting that this milestone occurred after his father spent 13 years managing a pan tapri before venturing into the world of grocery 33 years ago at a rented location.?
Dr. Waheed recalled how his father's kirana shop, which was open year round to save offs for two Eid holidays, provided financial stability for the family and allowed him to complete his schooling.?
