So, when Neeraj Chopra's won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the Track and Field event, Mahindra made sure to announce his excitement about this to the world.?
The business tycoon took to Twitter during the finals and compared the 23-year-old javelin thrower with Baahubali, the lead character, played by actor Prabhas, from the famous movie of the same name.??
But Mahindra did not stop there. After Chopra's win, a Twitter user, Ritesh Jain, replied to Mr Mahindra that the gold medalist should get the XUV700.?
Mahindra instantly replied to this request and tagged two auto company executives asking them to keep an XUV700 ready for Mr Chopra. He wrote, "Yes, indeed. It will be my personal privilege and honour to gift our Golden Athlete a XUV7OO @rajesh664 @vijaynakra Keep one ready for him please."
Many people praised Mahindra for this initiative. Some even asked him to do the same for all the medal winners at this year's Olympics.?
Neeraj Chopra, who is also a Subedar in the Indian Army managed a winning best of 87.58 metres to go one better than India's previous best. He is the first athlete representing India to have won gold in the javelin throw at both the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.?
