Every new mother needs to relax and chill and she should be able to do whatever she wants while caring for her newborn baby, which isn't really the world's easiest job.
A Facebook user, Trisha Ghosh Moitra went to South City Mall in Kolkata and asked for basic amenities for babies like a changing room and a private space for breastfeeding.?The way the not-so-good people of the mall responded, was appalling and enraging to say the least.?
What is so wrong with breastfeeding a baby? It is beyong horrifying that even in 2018 we are battling a taboo, which shouldn't be one in the first place. Apparently, feeding a baby in the public place is compromising the privacy of other people.?
We have a question about that: How? How is it compromising anyone's privacy at all?
Here's what Trisha had to say about it:?
"Hi, friends,
As some of you have noticed I have posted about @southcitymall Kolkata not having basic amenities for kids i.e baby room, feeding zone etc. which is there for any shopping mall. They are asking toilets to be used for feeding, etc. Please read the response they have given for our basic request. I am enraged. I am speechless with anger. Please read the screenshot and comment. The insensitivity seeping through is ridiculous. Baby's are not home chores, and yes they need to be fed whenever they want to survive. No woman wants their freaking boobs to hang out in public for display, it's not a fashion choice ..it's the most basic human need. Please share this post. My humble request to all of you. I tweeting the same. A big thank you to Abhilasha, for taking the first step to point out the discrimination and taking this to the south city authorities. Inspired by you, I will continue my crusade. We need more people like you."

After reading Trisha's experience on Facebook, a lady posted the experience of another woman on Twitter:
I gets worse.
Someone suggested that she must be enjoying all the 'attention'. What they need to realise is that this is not about just one person or incident, it's about the perception of an issue much bigger than that. Why should breastfeeding moms feel ashamed of feeding their kids???
Breastfeeding is a natural process - something a mother has to do in order to keep her child healthy. People who cannot grasp this deserve to be schooled.
FYI - Infants don't really have a fixed eating schedule, so no, moms cannot 'plan' their breastfeeding accordingly.
