A student from Kolkata¡¯s Jadavpur University bagged three job offers from what could easily be called 'dream companies'. While the choices here were all attractive, Bisakh Mondal chose an offer from Facebook London over the other two from Amazon and Google.?
"I got the job offer on Tuesday night," Bisakh Mondal told Indian Express. During the past two years, during the COVID pandemic, I got the opportunity to intern at several organizations and gather knowledge outside my curriculum studies. This has helped me crack the interviews."
He said in a conversation with India today, "I will join Facebook in September. Before accepting this job, I got offers from Google and Amazon. I thought choosing Facebook would be best as the pay package offered by them was high,"?
He shared his parents' response to his achievement. He added, "Naturally, my parents are very happy."
A resident of Rampurhat in Birbhum district, Mondal comes from a modest background. His mother, Shibani Mondal, is an Anganwadi worker. She told media people that she said that Bisakh has been a "meritorious student since childhood."
"It is a matter of great pride for us. We struggled a lot to see him achieve greater heights. He was always serious about his studies. After scoring good marks in higher secondary exams and a joint entrance exam, he got admission to Jadavpur University," she added.
Sharing his professors' response, Bisakh said, ?"My professors are really happy. I also spoke to them personally and met some of them after I bagged the job offer."
According to reports, this is the highest salary a JU student has received this year.
