A game of golf witnessed unruly scenes after an argument led to one man biting off another man's nose in Mississippi, US.?
Mark Wells, 51, got into an altercation with his playing partner and allegedly sunk his teeth into the victim¡¯s nose in a casino parking lot on Monday, November 28. He then fled the scene in his?Tesla before turning himself in to police two days later.??
According to?Bay St. Louis police,?Wells, the victim, and others had been arguing about a golf round they played at Bridges Golf Course earlier in the day.?
The tempers flared between them over the course of the day until they escalated in the parking lot of the Hollywood Casino around 9:30 p.m. local time. This is when Wells allegedly chomped on the man¡¯s face.??
When officers arrived, they found the victim with a facial injury¡ªhis nose had been bitten off.?The victim's nose was not found, and was taken to Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Bay St. Louis?Police Chief Toby Schwartz said that the investigation determined that the suspect, Mark Curtis Wells, bit the victim's nose off.
He was charged with felony mayhem and faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. The state law defines a felony as a premeditated "crime committed with the intent to kill in which the suspect mutilates, disfigures, disables, or destroys someone¡¯s tongue, eye, lip, nose, limb, or another body part."
Wells was booked into the Hancock County jail after turning himself in Wednesday morning. He was released shortly after paying 10% of a $50,000 bond himself.
The incident follows another ugly blowup between two golfers in Australia.
The chaotic scene is understood to have unfolded at Cranbourne?Golf Club in Melbourne during their annual club tournament, with a disagreement between two players quickly descending into an expletive-laden yelling match.
The footage begins with a 61-year-old man marching towards a member of another group on the side of the fairway, pointing his club directly at the other player.
¡°Why are there spectators? I don¡¯t mind people watching, but why are they on the golf course?¡± he says as he gets closer to the other group.
Soon a fiery exchange of expletives begins as two players begin storming towards the 61-year-old man in a rage of fury.
