Parking your vehicle is a problem everywhere, and if you do it wrong, be ready to be fined for it. However, a man in the UK was fined for parking for a minor mistake.??
Leaving a car just three inches away from the parking line costed a hefty amount to his pocket.?
According to reports, Julian Griffiths was fined 100 euros for parking his car just three inches over the parking spot line. He was issued a ticket just 10 minutes after he had parked his Renault Clio at Tawe Retail Park in Swansea. The 59-year-old man said he parked his car in a rush because he had to grab some knee supports for his son.
The picture of the parked car shows everything normal. The car is parked in the right spot. It is not blocking anything on the passage, but according to the warden, the rear of the car was 'too far' behind the parking line, 3 inches to be precise, and hence the fine. "I thought, ¡®Bl**** hell, they¡¯re having a laugh¡¯. I never realised it had to be perfectly square and perfectly within the confines of the bay. I would understand if it was halfway in one bay and half across another bay, but they are penalising me for wonky parking¡ªit¡¯s mad," said Griffiths.
The man decided to not pay the?fine, but on top of that, he also decided to file a plea against his ticket. Griffiths said he received details of the hefty fine from parking enforcement firm Eternity Fire and Security Ltd two weeks later. He thought the parking association was just trying to extort money out of him. He added, "It¡¯s clearly another example of car parking companies abusing their position to generate income." As per reports, he has no plans to pay the fine and has even filed an appeal against it.???
Similarly, few months back, a disabled woman was also fined for parking with the weird reason that she parked in the disabled spot.?A woman who is disabled and uses a wheelchair was slapped with a?fine of??1,000 for using a disabled parking space at her flat¡ªbecause it's only for visitors.
Even though she has told the authorities about her plight, she has been hit with a string of fines. She has been told by the parking management company that the space is strictly for visitors only at the Prospect Place flats in Cardiff Bay, Wales.
