Aamna Sharif Shares That Playing Komolika On 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2' Affected Her Mentally

Kasautii Zindagi Kay remains to be one of the most popular shows on the Indian television ever since it aired on Star Plus. And undoubtedly, Urvashi Dholakia had nailed her iconic character of Komolika in the serial produced by Ekta Kapoor under her banner of Balaji Telefilms.

While no one could forget the original Komolika in the first season, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 has also seen some attractive faces from the industry such as Hina Khan (for a brief period) and Aamna Sharif, who last portrayed the character onscreen.

According to latest reports, actress Aamna Sharif, who replaced Hina Khan for the iconic role, has now opened up about the challenges of playing Komolika on television. The actress, who happens be playing a negative character for the first time on screen in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 has revealed that playing one of India's favourite vamps pushed her out of her comfort zone and disturbed her mentally.

"It was so heavy to play her because the scenes Komolika performed were so negative. I remember in one specific scene I had to kill a newborn which played with my mental health," Aamna Sharif, who was away from the small screen for six years before taking up Komolika's role told Hindustan Times.

Aamna Sharif Says She Felt It Was A Legacy To Carry On

Aamna Sharif also expressed that the role did motivate her to put her best foot forward and seeing Urvashi Dholakia playing Komolika which became a cult character due to her appearance on the TV show, she felt it was a legacy to carry on. "She is iconic," Aamna Sharif said. The character Komolika from Kasautii Zindagii Kay is known for dressing, style, attitude, as well as her chilli-flavoured dialogues.

The original Kasautii Zindagii Kay had Shweta Tiwari as Prerna Sharma, Cezzane Khan portraying Anurag Basu, Ronit Roy as Rishabh Bajaj and Urvashi Dholakia who portrayed the iconic vamp Komolika Majumdar on TV. However, Cezzane Khan was later replaced by Hiten Tejwani in the serial.

On the work front, Aamna Sharif was seen in Life OK¡¯s Ek Thhi Naayka before making a comeback on TV with Komolika's role. Aamna Sharif will be next seen on Voot Select show Aadha Ishq, which is is a passionate love story that explores modern-day romance and complex relationships. Aamna Sharif is playing Roma in the latest web series.
