¡®Mahol Banadiya¡¯, Bawaal Opens To Mixed Reviews, Fans Laud Janhvi Kapoor-Varun Dhawan's Acting!

Recently released romantic drama Bawaal, which is Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's first collaborative project, finally made its OTT debut. Varun and Janhvi are portraying a troubled married couple in this Nitesh Tiwari-directed film, which is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. The movie has received excellent reviews from the internet community in terms of concept and acting since it was made available on OTT.

However, it received criticism from a segment of the audience who disapproved of the reference to Auschwitz.

Reacting to this, one wrote, ¡°#Bawaal on @PrimeVideoIN by Nitish Tiwari is a very good watch. @Varun_dvn & #JhansiPolice have been delivered excellent performances. Not sure why people are posting bad things about the movie l.And I watched it right after watching #Oppenheimer.¡±

Another wrote, ¡°I feel #Bawaal will make you realise, where the Bollywood is going wrong even after making desperate attempts. It lacks soul. Dialogues like ¡°Har rishta apne apne Auschwitz se Guzarta hai¡± is the byproduct of that disconnect with real world. Wake up Bollywood!.¡±

A third added, ¡°So Bollywood came up with another blunder, #Bawaal. I don't even have words- how can someone be so insensitive? How can you compare Auschwitz with a lame relationship trouble? Why is it on Amazon?.¡±

A fourth wrote, ¡°#Bawaal is a big slap for those who always said @Varun_dvn didn't know acting, its a decent and simple story but the way @niteshtiwari22 presented it just awesome. Bawaal is the perfect movie to watch on this weekend

So #Bawaal was released on OTT & for good reason.
It draws analogies from #Auschwitz concentration camp to explain the problems in a love story.
I don't think such content would've been passed without cuts by Censor Board, let alone garnering audience.

About Bawaal

Varun Dhawan plays the part of Ajay, a history teacher who marries Nisha (played by Janhvi Kapoor), a girl from a small town, in the film Bawaal. They experience relationship issues while in Europe on their honeymoon. The historical context of World War II is also mentioned in the movie.
