¡®I Dropped Everything, Ran To US¡¯: Anurag Kashyap Says Aaliyah Got Anxiety After Rape Threats
Talking about Aaliyah, Anurag said he never tried to hide her away from the spotlight.
Fatherhood comes with challenges, and the reality is even more terrifying if you're a public figure. In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap opened up about his role as a father.
Aaliyah, Kashyap's daughter from his first marriage to Aarti Bajaj, received rape threats and was subjected to vicious trolling for posting pictures of herself in lingerie.
In a recent interview with Tanmay Bhat, he opened up about the rape threats to his daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap.
Recalling the time when trolling got so severe that his daughter suffered anxiety attacks, Anurag Kashyap said,
"Her anxiety literally made me drop everything and run to the US, and she came back here. Other than her anxiety issues, she is just amazing."
Talking about Aaliyah, Anurag said he never tried to hide her away from the spotlight.
Anurag said he is happy that Aaliyah speaks to everyone about everything because there are some issues that children don't feel comfortable discussing with their parents. He emphasized,
"At this age, she talks to everybody about everything. In our team, we had to deal with it while keeping it inside." He added, "If I got as much box office as I get attention, it would have gotten compensated."
Anurag Kashyap is a soft target for trolls on social media. After days of conflict with trolls who attacked him for opposing the central government's decision to repeal Article 370, Anurag deleted his Twitter account in January 2019.
Anurag recently also made news after Vivek Agnihotri took offense to his Oscar prediction remark. RRR was Anurag's top choice for an Oscar nomination over The Kashmir Files. In a tweet, Vivek branded the Dobaara director as a genocide denier.
Currently, Anurag is promoting his film 'Dobaaraa' with Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati.
