Just days ago, Naseeruddin Shah's clip from an interview in which she said that he doesn't understand people who enjoyed watching films like RRR and Pushpa: The Rise and called these films out for representing hypermasculinity. Now, another clip from Be A Man Yaar is going viral on the internet and it has once again sparked the working men vs housewives debate.
Naseeruddin Shah's take on housewives
In the clip, the veteran actor was talking about how men who are emotionally drained indulge in illogical masala movies for entertainment when he said, "Women's lives particularly housewives' lives are tougher and that is why a film which women like will always be a success, and women will like sensitive things. But men have this luxury of indulging." He then gives and example of how men behave and says, "Mai bohot thaka hua hun. Jao paani lao. Din bhar kaam kiya hai".
He then adds, "Arre vo bechari kya soti rahi kya? Usne bhi din bhar kaam kiya hai aur tumse zyada kiya hai."
"So it's purely and indulgence and nothing else. Main unn logo ko bohot admire karta hun jo ghar mein madad karte hain, jo apni zimmedari samjhte hain ki ghar mein, iss ghar mein mai bhi rehta hu. Iss ghar ke liye mujhe bhi kuch karna chaiye. Sirf naukri sab kuch nahi hai."
"Mard ho toh thak kyu gaye," he asks.
Reacting to this, Twitter user @ArnazHathiram who is the founder of @voiceformenind strongly disagreed with Naseeruddin Shah's comment.
And then several other Twitter users disagreed with her and slammed her savagely.

The thing is we have to recognize that across the world women¡¯s work in the home is unpaid labor. https://t.co/1q2v64gnld

Some privileged women do benefit from patriarchy too!!! It's a system rigged against the weak (of which 90% happens to be women) https://t.co/ztxPdiq6I3
Arnaz I feel so so so sorry for your daughter if you have one. She deserves a more supportive and strong headed woman as an idol. Too bad she won¡¯t have a solid emotional support system in her life https://t.co/SB1YEDKT6E
