The Technology Is Extraordinary! Here's Why Brad Pitt's New Skincare Line Is So Expensive
Called Le Domaine Skincare, Brad Pitt's New Skincare Line is expensive because it's an amalgamation of science with nature. Here's all you need to know.
"Brad Pitt is launching a new skincare line. The technology is extraordinary and we're sending a few journalists to Provence to learn more about it," announced the Hollywood actor's publicist as per instyle.com about his latest venture, Le Domaine Skincare.
Ever since the Hollywood actor announced his skincare line, people have been excited. The excitement, however, got almost killed after seeing the price card.
As the company launched a few products, including moisturizers and facial serums, the price tags of the products were heavily criticised online.
The facial serum costs $385 (over Rs 31,000), while the moisturising cream is $320 (Over Rs 25,000). A liquid cleanser, described as the "cleansing emulsion," is slightly cheaper, with the website listing the product for $80 (Rs 6,000).
Brad Pitt's new "genderless" skincare line is yet another example of how so much mainstream "gender neutral" discourse is really just the masculine standing in for the universal.

The brand's website also notes that it will be releasing a fluid cream in January, which will cost $310 (over Rs 25,000). Customers can also purchase refills of the products, which range from $260 (Rs 21,000) and $350 (Rs 28,000). Now, fans have been constantly questioning the exorbitant prices for skincare.

His skincare brand has products that are made from grapes selected from a French vineyard, reports independent.co.uk.
As he launched the skincare line, Pitt said, "I'm not going to pretend I know anything about the science. Just being a film guy, I get sent stuff. I've been getting sent every new brand for decades, and quite frankly, I couldn't tell the difference. I've been using [Le Domaine] for the last year and truthfully wouldn't have brought this to market unless I saw a difference ¡ª something that was working."

What's the difference? The products have GSM10? as well as ProGR3?, the two patented active anti-aging compounds, developed by Dr. Pierre-Louis Teissedre, who is a professor at the University of Bordeaux Institute of Vine and Wine Science.

"My colleagues and I tested multiple grape varieties to assess their potential beneficial effects, including their ability to reduce hypertension. We observed a reduction of up to 24% in terms of hypertension, which is an oxidative condition, just like cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Our work demonstrated that adding certain extracts could have an effect on chronic conditions that involve oxidative stress,"
Dr. Teissedre said as quoted by instyle.
Furthermore, the packaging is environment friendly made of recycled glass and plastic.
