Bizarre sea creature found washed up on Oregon beach
Last month, a bizarre-looking rotting sea creature was found washed up on a coast in Oregon, US.
Taking to Reddit, Kristine Tillotson posted multiple pictures showing an animal with needle-like teeth, lying dead on a stack of rocks. Parts of its body were peeling away, as it appeared to be decomposing.
In the caption, Tillotson asked for help in identifying the sea creature. She also mentioned that she came across the animal at Mill Beach in Brookings, Oregon.
The pictures showed a peculiar sea creature with what looks like the head of a fish and needle-like teeth. Its head seems to be peeling away from the rest of its body, as it appears to be rotten.
Tillotson told Newsweek that the bone collecting group on Reddit has agreed that the bizarre creature is a type of eel called a monkeyface prickleback eel.
"I posted the photo to Reddit in a bone collecting group as well as a marine biologist group and they all agreed it is a type of eel called a monkeyface prickleback eel," Tillotson told Newsweek.
