Train Connecting Prague, Vienna & Budapest To Each Other For Almost Rs 1,500, Starts In Europe

Every 90's kid wanted to hop on a train journey throughout Europe the moment we watched Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan do the same in Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. So, if you were one of them, here's some good news for you. Also, if you make environmentally-conscious decisions while traveling, then this is probably great news for you.

For less than $20 (approximately Rs 1,500), people can now travel between three European capital cities - Prague, Czech Republic; Vienna, Austria; and Budapest, Hungary.

According to a Business Insider report, the Czech train network RegioJet launched two new routes that connect Vienna and Prague to Budapest.

The RegioJet journey from Vienna to Budapest takes two hours and 45 minutes; tickets start at $11 (Rs 800). To travel from Prague to Budapest, it is a seven-hour train ride and the tickets start at $19 (Rs 1,400)

RegioJet also has a route that travels between Prague and Vienna. Due to the pandemic, the route was unavailable in March but has finally reopened. Tickets for the same start at $16 (Rs 1,200) and the train journey takes about four hours.

Even though the seven-hour train ride between Prague and Budapest is way longer than taking the flight, which is about an hour and a half, traveling by train is much more eco-friendly as well as enjoyable, given Europe's beautiful outdoors. Train journeys are romanticized for being scenic and a lot of people still enjoy them as much as their destination.

RegioJet owner Radim Jan?ura wants and hopes that the environmentally friendly journey will appeal to young travellers who are much more woke about being ecologically conscious as compared to the generation before them. Jan?ura told Euro News, "Especially (for the) young generation, they would like to be more ecological. So it means they will prefer to travel by train, if the traveling time is four to six hours".

The RegioJet trains are also designed to look like planes and the seats include facilities like touch-screen entertainment monitors. Passengers also get free Wi-Fi during their journey, regardless of the fact if they bought the cheapest ticket.
