In a strange incident, a woman with a severe nut allergy took a proactive step to ensure her safety during a flight.

She spent ?15,000 of her own money to buy out all the peanut packets available on the flight, preventing other passengers from purchasing and opening them.

As reported by Business Insider, on July 13, 27-year-old Leah Williams embarked on a flight from Germany's D¨¹sseldorf to London's Heathrow Airport.

Leah faces the challenging condition of anaphylactic shock, a severe allergic reaction that can be life-threatening.

Even someone nearby opening a packet of peanuts can trigger hives and extreme discomfort for her.

During her Eurowings flight from D¨¹sseldorf to London, Leah Williams took the initiative to request the cabin crew to announce her severe nut allergy. She kindly asked passengers to avoid opening peanut packets during the flight to ensure her safety.

In a previous experience, the cabin crew had complied with her request.

However, this time, they declined, stating that it went against the airline's policy.

Leah Williams told Business Insider that the flight attendant didn't make eye contact. He didn't grasp the seriousness of her situation and asked if she needed an inhaler.

She felt he was frustrated because she was causing a delay in the line.

Faced with no other option, the woman decided to spend a significant amount, $185 (?15,000), to purchase all 48 packets of peanuts on the flight. She intended to prevent other passengers from buying and opening them during the journey.

She took this step as she believed the cabin crew was unwilling to assist her by refraining from serving peanuts.

The flight attendants meticulously counted all 48 packets of peanuts to ensure they charged the correct amount. Surprisingly, they even asked Leah Williams if she wanted to take the packets home, which she declined.

Consequently, the crew placed the 48 boxes of peanuts in a plastic bag and stored them at the front of the cabin.

While Leah spent ?15,000 to safeguard herself from an allergic reaction during the flight, she could travel safely but at a substantial cost.
