Sperm Donor Who Has Fathered 550 Children & Was Sued For Serial Donations Still Wants To Keep Going
A sperm donor who has fathered over 550 children has no plans of stopping his philanthropic donations, even after getting sued for doing so.
Even after donating 550 children all over the world, Jonathan Jacob Meijer still wants to keep on pursuing his philanthropic passions. The Dutch man was sued over incest fears, but after getting banned from donating his sperm in the Netherlands, he continued his pursuits in other countries.
Sperm Donor Wants To Continue Donating Even After Fathering 550 Kids
He started his journey as a donor in 2007. He used multiple methods to start donating. He joined Facebook groups for people who were struggling to conceive children. Jonathan also signed up for not one but 11 clinics as a donor and got hooked at the Cyros Sperm Bank in Denmark.
However, the twist in the tale was that Jonathan was actually lying to all these banks and told each clinic he would exclusively make donations in their bank. He also told each prospective mother that he had ¡°only¡± fathered 10 children.
The truth was that his numbers were a major downplay, seeing as he had children all across the globe, with about 375 in the Netherlands alone. He also has about 80 kids in Germany, 35 in Belgium, 4 in Argentina, and 2 in Australia.
Jonathan, who is a Youtube content creator and a musician, told German media that he wanted to father an army's worth of children because he wanted to do "something meaningful."
The Donor Faced A Heavy Fine For Continuing To Donate Sperm
However, Jonathan¡¯s dreams faced a steep speed bump when he was ordered by the court to stop donating his sperm. He would have faced a hefty fine if he continued to ignore the court¡¯s orders. According to the BBC, the serial donor could face a whopping fine of 100,000 euros (nearly Rs 90 lakh) if he tried to donate sperm again.
A lawsuit against the man was filed in 2023 by a Dutch mother who alleged that his excessive donations could lead to an increased risk of incest. Eva had a child using Jonathan¡¯s sperm in 2018, and she admitted, "If I had known he had already fathered more than 100 children, I would never have chosen him."
She expressed her disgust with the possibility that this could lead to her child ending up in an incestual match. Eva also mentioned how many mothers have told the man to stop his donations, but nothing has helped, which has forced her to take the matter up with the court.
Even after the court¡¯s orders, the serial donor has not stopped. Though he does claim that he is only donating seed to mothers with whom he has already had children, which is technically allowed, he also dreams of starting a family of his own in the midst of all the chaos surrounding his sperm donation patterns.
