Angreji Beat singer and actor Gippy Grewal has revealed that his son Gurfateh alias Shinda was offered to essay the role of young Laal Singh Chaddha (Aamir Khan). However, he refused the offer as the role required his son to chop off his hair. He said he wasn't okay with it.?
"There was an angle in the film where he had to get his hair cut. But we weren¡¯t okay with it. In fact, it was not possible for us. That¡¯s why he couldn¡¯t do the film," Gippy Grewal told News 18.?
The actor-singer said that casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who made his directorial debut with Sushant Singh Rajput's last film Dil Bechara, had approached him for a role for his son Gurfateh. The makers had seen his son in his 2016 film Ardaas in which Gurfateh played a very small role.?
He was quoted as saying by Rising Kashmir, "One day, my local casting coordinators informed that actor Aamir Khan is looking for a new face for his childhood role in upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha. I appeared through e-audition and was selected by the team. It was the best movement of my life so far. I had to go through several training sessions, workshops, interviews with Aamir Khan and his entire team including directors, producers. It continued for some time and till I acted as a young Sikh boy, who is specially-abled in the movie."
He wrote, "Had the privilege of watching Aamir Khan¡¯s Laal Singh Chaddha. A breath of fresh air! A film that goes more than surface deep. A film that stirs you from within!! Makes you laugh, cry, and ponder!! It comes with a simple message love and innocence conquer all!! Was wonderful to watch Naga Chaitanya grow as an actor. Director Advait Chandan, writer Atul Kulkarni and the team you just lift our spirits up!"
