Air India has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Since a drunk?passenger on an Air India flight from New York to Delhi in November of last year was reported to have urinated on an older woman, the airline has been the subject of increased criticism.
On the same flight from Paris to New Delhi in December 2022, there was a second instance in which a drunk guy urinated on the blanket of a female passenger.?
And now, Air India has done it again.?
"You don¡¯t need resources and money to ensure stone-free food Air India @airindiain. This is what I received in my food served on flight AI 215 today. Crew member, Ms. Jadon was informed. This kind of negligence is unacceptable. #airIndia," she tweeted on January 8.
"Dear Ma¡¯am, this is concerning, and we¡¯re taking this up immediately with our Catering team. Please allow us some time to get back. We appreciate you bringing this to our notice."
People on Twitter shared their two cents and wrote:
"Dear @TataCompanies: JRD Tata once set standards for the aviation industry. He built #AirIndia into a globally respected brand before Govt took it over. Now that you¡¯re back as owners, hitting new lows? Is there no corporate oversight? How do you manage #PeeGate, and now this," wrote one.?
Another one pointed out, "While Airindia was supposed to compete with the best in the airline industry, it is competing with Indian railways, it seems,"
On Saturday, Delhi Police arrested Shankar Mishra in Bengaluru for urinating on an elderly woman passenger on November 26. In light of the event, Wells Fargo fired Mishra on Friday.
A court later sent the accused to judicial remand for 14 days while rejecting a police plea for custody.
During interrogation, Mishra told police that he did not remember anything about the incident since he was sleepy. It was only when other passengers on the flight told him about his actions that he apologized to the victim, officials said on Saturday.
Mishra admitted that he was under the influence of alcohol. He claimed that while traveling in the US, he and his friend took turns driving a car, and he did not get proper sleep, a senior police officer said.?
